Marriage Rocks


Dr. Harold L. Arnold, Jr., founder of Discovering Family International, is a social and organizational psychologist who specializes in developing family-focused culture in homes, places of worship, and business settings. Using his own model for relationship-faith integration, Relationship ROCKS, Dr. Arnold challenges audiences to become better stewards of all the relationships to which God holds them accountable. In his words, he espouses, “building relational equity.”
With his holistic view of relationships that extends from the bedroom to the boardroom, Dr. Arnold demonstrates how successful homes, religious organizations, community groups, and businesses cultivate relationships and leaders defined by an organic sense of shared identity. Armed with biblical principles, psychological insights, and entertaining stories, Dr. Arnold guides his audiences on a journey to discover faith and purpose through committed relationships.
In addition to his commitment to relationship education, Dr. Arnold also works with organizations to develop customized family-based programming, family outreach initiatives, and relationship counseling services.
With all of his accomplishments, Dr. Arnold is most proud of his marriage of more than twenty years to his college sweetheart, Dalia, and their two wonderful children, Quilan and Kyrsten. The Arnold family resides in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.Education
Dr. Arnold earned doctorate and Master’s degrees from Temple University in Social and Organizational Psychology. He also holds a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary and a Master’s in Systems Engineering from University Maryland College Park. Dr. Arnold received his undergraduate degree from Howard University.Affiliations
Dr. Arnold served on the editorial board of the Journal of Social Issues, as Director of Christian Education for a large multicultural ministry, and as adjunct faculty for a Christian university in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. He is also a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and the African American Black Christian Counselors.
